Summary

Bayan is a fast, free Quran and dua detector. The app listens to audio you choose to record and matches it to likely Quran ayahs. We do not sell personal data.

What data we collect

• Audio you record for detection. This is used only to produce a transcript and match results.
• Basic app diagnostics (crash logs) provided by the operating system, if enabled.

How we use data

• To transcribe audio and find matching ayahs.
• To improve accuracy when you test and report issues.

Where processing happens

• Local-first: the app is designed to process audio on-device when possible.
• If you use SpeechRecognizer, audio may be sent to Google’s speech services to generate a transcript. This behavior depends on your device and network.

Data retention

• We do not store your recordings on our servers.
• Any temporary audio files created on the device are discarded after processing.

Sharing

We do not share your audio or transcripts with third parties, except as required to provide transcription when you choose an online ASR engine.

Your choices

• You control when the app records.
• You can deny microphone permission and still browse the app.
• You can stop recording at any time.
